I first wrote this guide for the Valorant Mobile China beta, when you had to pre-register. The game has since launched in China, on 19 August 2025, so you no longer need to wait to be picked. You can download it directly. Below is the original account setup, which you still need, followed by the download steps for Android and iPhone.
First: do not buy APKs
Valorant Mobile officially said that anyone using or sharing leaked APK files or game packages will not be able to play. If someone sells you a "leaked" version, you are paying for nothing. Do not fall for it.
What you need
- A QQ or WeChat account. Registration for the China beta needs one of them.
- A booster app with a built-in VPN to reach the Chinese services. I use LagoFast; download it from its official website, not from the Play Store.
Steps
- Install LagoFast from the official website. My code Zibno gives VIP access.
- Inside LagoFast, search for WeChat or QQ and boost it, then install WeChat or QQ.
- Sign up with your phone number or email.
- Back in LagoFast, search Valorant Mobile. Open the Valorant CN entry and its pre-register link.
- Log in with your QQ or WeChat account. You are registered.
Tip If WeChat or QQ asks you to scan a QR code to create the account, the app is either blocked in your country or wants an existing user to verify you. If you cannot get past that step, this method will not work for you, and I would rather tell you that than waste your time.
QQ or WeChat: which account to make
- Sign-up needs a nickname, a password and a phone number that gets an SMS code. Guides report that QQ accepts numbers from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. If you have one of those, QQ is usually the easier choice.
- Accepts international phone numbers, but a new account is unverified, and to play you need to pass real-name verification. Note that the China and international versions of WeChat use separate account systems.
Either way, real-name verification is required by Chinese rules for all players. If your account cannot pass it, you will not be able to play, whatever download method you use.
Tip Never pay a stranger to "verify" an account for you, and never share the SMS or login codes you receive. That is how accounts get stolen.
Downloading on Android
- Download the game from the official Valorant Mobile China website, or from TapTap's own website. Do not use the TapTap app from the Play Store, which guides report is a different, less updated app.
- Allow installing apps from your browser when Android asks.
- Open the game, let it download the extra game files over Wi-Fi, and sign in with your QQ or WeChat account.
Downloading on iPhone
- The game is only in the Chinese App Store, so you need an Apple ID with China as the region.
- In the App Store, sign out of your Apple ID, then create a new Apple ID and choose China as the region. You can skip the payment method.
- Search the App Store for "VALORANT" or the game's Chinese name, then download it.
- Sign out again afterwards and switch back to your normal Apple ID. The game stays installed, and it updates when you sign in with the Chinese ID again.
Tip Use a separate Chinese Apple ID instead of changing the region of your main one. Changing your main account's region can cancel subscriptions and hide apps you bought in your own country.
Ping and connection
The servers are in mainland China. From South or Southeast Asia, ping is usually playable; from Europe or the Americas it will be high, and you may get disconnects, especially on mobile data. Play on Wi-Fi, close other downloads, and use a booster or VPN route to China if your connection drops a lot.
Things to know before you invest time
- Your China account is separate from a future global version. Riot has not said that progress will carry over, so assume it will not.
- Everything is in Chinese. Use the lobby in English and basic settings explained to find your way.

FAQ
Can I play Valorant Mobile outside China?
Yes, through the China version, if you have a real-name verified QQ or WeChat account. Expect higher ping the further you are from China.
Do I still need to pre-register for Valorant Mobile?
No. The game launched in China on 19 August 2025, so you can download it directly.
Can I use a WeChat account with a foreign phone number?
WeChat accepts international numbers, but the account must pass real-name verification before you can play.
Is it safe to download a Valorant Mobile APK from other sites?
No. Only use the official website or TapTap. Valorant Mobile has said leaked or modified game packages will not be able to play.
