The Chinese version of Valorant Mobile is polished, and the menus are simple once you know what each icon means. The problem is that everything is in Chinese, and there is no English language option. Here is the lobby, translated, so you can find everything, plus what to expect from the modes and a checklist for your first session.
Bottom right: playing
- Start: queue for matches, pick maps, or go into training mode.
- Above Start: friends and invites.
- Above that: your player profile.
Where the settings are hiding
Next to your profile there is a small box icon. That is the settings menu. It is an unusual place for it, so this is the one thing most new players cannot find. Next to it you have your inbox and the leaderboard.
Bottom middle: three tabs
- Home: your main hub.
- Bookmark icon: events, news and beta invite features.
- Highlights (looks like a podcast icon): clips uploaded by players. You can like, watch and share your own.
Top left: everything else
- Store: weapon skins, agent skins and more.
- Agents: abilities and gameplay for every agent.
- Weapons: the full list of guns.
- Missions and quests.
- Rank: your current placement.
Getting into training mode
- Press Start in the bottom right.
- On the next screen, tap the training icon at the bottom.
- You land in the range, where you can test your settings before a real match.
For what each setting does, read the full breakdown in Valorant Mobile basic settings explained.
Game modes you will find behind Start
When the game launched in China on 19 August 2025, reports from the ChinaJoy reveal said it would have 10 modes. The ones PC players know are all there:
- Competitive
- The ranked 5v5 Spike mode. This is where your rank comes from, so learn the maps in the other modes first.
- Spike Rush
- A short, casual version of the Spike mode with random weapons. Good for learning maps quickly without economy pressure.
- Deathmatch
- Free-for-all aim practice against real players. Valorant Mobile has two Deathmatch maps that do not exist on PC.
The rest of the list changes with events and updates. The first-anniversary update in August 2026 was reported to add a new mode called Reclaim, alongside the agent Harbor.
Maps and agents
- At launch there were 7 maps for the main Spike modes, including Bind, Ascent and Split, plus the 2 mobile-only Deathmatch maps.
- Launch had 18 agents, fewer than on PC, and more have been added in updates through 2026.
- The Agents tab in the top left shows every agent's abilities and gameplay. Check an agent there before you spend currency to unlock them.
Reading Chinese menus you do not know yet
There is no English language option in the China version, so here are two tricks for anything this guide does not cover:
- Use your phone camera with Google Lens, or a second phone, to translate the screen live. It is the fastest way to read a menu or an event page.
- Take a screenshot and use the translate option in your gallery or the Google Translate app. Many phones can translate the text in a screenshot directly.
Your first session: a quick checklist
- Open the settings (the box icon next to your profile) and set graphics and frame rate. Phones with a Snapdragon 8-series chip can reach 120 FPS, and some can go higher.
- Set your walk mode, fire buttons and smart fire, using the basic settings guide.
- Go into the training range and test your sensitivity and HUD layout.
- Play a few Deathmatch and Spike Rush games to learn the maps.
- Only then queue for Competitive.
Tip Test every HUD or sensitivity change in the training range before you take it into a ranked match.
