If you are starting out as a streamer, you do not need an Elgato capture card. Duowan lets you record your screen and stream straight from your phone, and it costs about $10 a month.
What is Duowan?
Duowan is an app that records your phone screen and streams it using only your phone and a charging cable. That makes it ideal if you are just starting and do not have a budget for streaming gear, whether you game, vlog or make tutorials.
Key features
- Affordable
- About $10 a month, without cutting quality.
- Easy setup
- Just your phone and a charging cable. No extra hardware.
- HD recording
- Records your screen in high definition.
- Streaming
- Stream from your phone to popular platforms in real time.
StreamChamp for iPhone
On iPhone, StreamChamp is a good companion to Duowan. It adds a watermark, but it streams without any extra equipment, so it is a simple, cheap way to start.
Why it suits beginners
- Cheap: much less than a capture card while you test the waters.
- Simple: no complicated setup, so you can focus on content.
- Flexible: works for tutorials, gaming and live events.
